Well I would like to start by saying that cooking chicken is very fun.I have cooked chicken for a decade now.Now the first thing you wanna do is have the correct ingredients to make chicken.You need to buy some chicken,whatever pieces you like(chicken thighs,breast,legs,or wings).Next you want to have a bottle of oil.You also want to have some seasoning for your chicken,whatever you enjoy.Also you want to have some flour.You also need a fork.The first thing you wanna do is wash the chicken pieces.After that,you need to pour two cups of oil in a skillet,bring the heat to a low.Then next thing you want to do is season your chicken the way you like it.Next you want to take the chicken pieces and put them in the flour.Make sure that the chicken has flour on both sides.Next you want to turn the fire up to a medium,not on high though.After that ,put the chicken pieces in the oil.Watch the chicken.The chicken should start to cook.Be patient.Let the chicken cook for about 13minutes,then you wanna get your fork and flip the chicken on the opposite side and let that cook for 13minutes.Be sure to poke the chicken with your fork after you turn it
over,that helps to drain blood from the chicken.Okay after that,your chicken should be golden.Now after that poke the chicken with your fork,if the insides feel really soft or if you see pinkness or juices still running out,that means that your chicken is not cooked fully yet.So turn the chicken over again let cook about another 10minutes.Make sure that the fire is not on high,you want the heat to be at a medium.If the heat is too high the chicken tends to cook quicker on the outside instead of the inside.The goal is for you to cook your chicken fully.So after the 10minutes,poke the chicken ,if it looks white and feels firm,and there is no pinkness then that means your chicken is well done.So altogether,it’ll probably take about 35-40min to cook the chicken.Be sure to remember to keep the heat at medium and not high.After your chicken is done,Enjoy!

Make sure to read through all directions carefully before starting, as this dish is done in steps!

The day before, or early in the morning prepare your meat and broth:

4-pound stewing chicken
1 carrot, sliced
1 onion
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 tsp salt
2 whole cloves
1/4 tsp ginger

Place chicken, carrot, onion, celery, salt, and spices in large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then simmer until meat begins to fall from bones. Let the meat cool in the stock. Remove chicken from liquid, strain the stock and skim fat from top. Save this stock to make the gravy. Remove the meat from the bones. And cut into bite-sized chunks.

At the same time, bake 1 large sweet potato in the microwave or regular oven. (Enough to make 1 cup mashed.)

About 1 hour before ready to serve, melt 4 TBL butter in large dutch oven and add:

3 peeled and sliced carrots
4 stalks sliced celery
1 onion, chopped
1/2 tsp salt

Cook over medium heat about 8 minutes, or until vegetables are softened. Add in and stir for about 20 seconds:

3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 tsp. dried thyme (or 2tsp. fresh)
1/8 tsp. dried sage (or 1 fresh chopped leaf)

Whisk in 1/2 cup of flour. Continue to whisk as you slowly pour in 3 cups of the reserved broth, making sure to scrape up any browned bits. Simmer about 10-12 minutes or until thickened. Add 1 cup frozen peas.

Place the cooked chicken chunks into a 9×13 inch casserole dish , distributing whte and dark meat evenly. Pour gravy carefully over chicken.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees while you make crust:

1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup cold, mashed sweet potato
1/3 cup melted butter
1 egg well beaten

Whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt. Work in sweet potato, egg and butter until it makes a nice, soft dough. Roll out 1/4 inch thick and cover chicken pie.

Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Serves 6 to 8 people.

Everyone loves a barbeque but sometimes we run out of ideas for new bbq recipes. Here is a recipe for Hawaiian Chicken BBQ that is sure to be a hit at your next function.

Hawaiian Chicken BBBQ

Ingredients needed include a whole cut up chicken, 1 jar of terriyaki style bbq sauce, fresh pineapple, pineapple juice, maraschino cherries.

Wash the chicken pieces and pat them dry. In a large bowl add the terriyaki bbq sauce, and about 1/4 cup of the pineapple juice and mix it well. You do not want the mixture to be too loose so use your judgement on how much juice you add. Place the chicken in the BBQ sauce and let it marinate overnight in the refrigerator.

When ready to grill, make sure your bbq grill is nice and hot. Baste the grate with olive oil to prevent sticking before you place the chicken on the grill. Right before the Hawaiian chicken is done you can place slices of fresh pineapple on the grill so that they get lightly toasted.

When ready to serve place a slice of grilled pineapple on top of your serving and place a cherry in the middle. You can add other condiments to the sauce depending upon what your family enjoys.
